Referral Policy: Tax Return Rewards Program

Referral Terms and Conditions

MaeWeather Tax Co. & Finance Team (“the firm”) strives to reward our valued clients for referring new clients to us for tax preparation services. Before participating in our referral program, it is important to familiarize yourself with the following terms and conditions that govern the payment of referral fees to clients.

Please carefully review these terms and conditions, as they constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the firm.

Qualified Referrals: We only accept referrals from current clients who are actively engaged with our services and have no outstanding balance.

Reported Referrals: All referrals must be reported to us either by you, the current client, or by the potential new client. The firm is not responsible for determining if a potential client was referred. It is the responsibility of either you or the potential client to report the existence of a referral.

Qualification Criteria:

  1. Current client referrals will be deemed qualified when the potential client successfully completes their tax return with us, thus becoming a new client.
  2. The referred new client’s tax preparation fees must amount to at least $350 or more to qualify for referral fees, and all fees must be paid in full before the release of referral fees.
  3. Referral fees will not be paid if the current client has an outstanding balance, or if the referred new client has an unpaid balance. In the event that a new client receives in-house discounts that bring the total tax preparation fees below $350, this will not impact the eligibility for referral fees.
  4. The qualification terms of the referral program are subject to periodic change.

Payment of Referral Fees: Referral fees will be disbursed after the tax season has ended, with payment commencing from mid-July. Please ensure that your address is correct as we use several payment methods. Note that payment disbursements and dates are subject to change. While we make efforts to notify clients when referral payments are disbursed, we do not guarantee that notifications will be sent via text or personal phone call. It is your responsibility to keep your address updated. The firm has no obligation to pay referral fees for referrals where work was performed but not paid for, services were refused, or the account is pending or incomplete.

Tax Compliance: Clients are solely responsible for complying with any applicable tax laws, including any state-regulated taxes that may be applicable based on referral payments received from the firm.

Confidentiality: You acknowledge that the amount of referral fees paid to you and any financial information related to referrals is strictly confidential. You agree not to disclose such information to any third parties for any purpose. It is your responsibility to protect and safeguard this information against unauthorized disclosure or use, employing procedures no less stringent than those used to protect your own confidential information.

Termination and Revisions: The firm may terminate its referral program at any time, with or without prior notice to clients, at its sole discretion. Upon termination, you will be entitled to receive any unpaid referral fees that had accrued but remained unpaid until the termination date or 180 days, whichever is greater. The firm reserves the right to update these referral terms at any time, with or without notice, and the revised terms shall be binding for referrals reported after the effective date of the revisions.

Entire Agreement: These referral terms constitute the entire agreement between the firm and its clients regarding the payment of referrals for all referrals made to us.

Please note that the above-mentioned terms and conditions are subject to change, and it is your responsibility to stay updated on any revisions.

DISCLAIMER: As part of our tax return rewards program, we offer a cash reward of $50 for each new client referred to the firm by a participant. To qualify as a new client, the individual (or married couple) must be filing their tax return with us for the first time, with a tax preparation fee equal to or greater than $350. In order to refer new clients, you must have already had your own tax return prepared by the firm. Please provide a valid email address for communication relating to our rewards program. Participants cannot refer themselves, nor can they refer someone who is simultaneously referring them. If any of your referred clients do not pay their quoted fee in full by May 1st of the tax season, you will not receive the $50 client reward for those unpaid referrals. Please note that if your referred client fails to report your name as the referrer, we may not be able to attribute the referral to you, which could delay or prevent your rewards from being distributed. Client rewards can be redeemed at our office and cannot be combined with any other fee reduction, promotion or offer. Please be aware that our associates and employees are not eligible to participate in this promotion without express written consent from the executive team.
